personalization.dev ("we", "us") is operated by Realtime Comms Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales. Contact: support@realtimecomms.co.uk. This policy explains what data we process when you use the personalization.dev API and when our service researches individuals on behalf of our customers.

1. Data we collect

Customer account data. When we issue you an API key we hold your name, email address, and a log of your API requests (the URLs you submitted, timestamps, outcomes and usage counts) so we can operate the service, enforce limits, and bill you.

Researched contact data. The core function of the API is researching publicly available information about the person behind a URL our customer submits: their name, role, published work (with its source URL), and a publicly listed or derived business email address, which we verify for deliverability. This information is sourced from the public web and processed on the basis of our customers' legitimate interest in business-to-business outreach. We return it to the requesting customer and retain a copy in that customer's request log.

We never send email to researched contacts, we do not maintain a marketed database of contacts, and we do not return generic role inboxes (info@, hello@).

2. How we use data

Solely to provide the service: researching the submitted URL, verifying an email address when requested, generating an opening line derived only from the researched person's public work, and returning the result to the customer who asked. We do not sell data, and we do not use your data or researched contacts' data to train AI models.

3. Processors we rely on

We use a small number of service providers, each receiving only the minimum needed for its function: AI providers for research and writing (Anthropic, OpenAI, and web-research model providers), email discovery and verification providers (AnyMailFinder, MillionVerifier, BounceBan), and Cloudflare (DNS).

4. Retention and deletion

Customer account and request data is retained while your key is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for billing records. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us.

5. Rights of researched individuals

If the service has researched you and you would like the information we hold corrected or deleted, or your details suppressed from future research, email support@realtimecomms.co.uk and we will action it within 30 days. Under UK and EU data protection law you may also request access to the personal data we hold about you, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

6. Security

Data is stored on servers in the EU, transmitted over TLS, and access is restricted to Realtime Comms Ltd personnel who need it to operate the service. API keys should be treated as secrets; tell us immediately if one is exposed and we will rotate it.

7. Your responsibilities as a customer

You are an independent controller of the outreach you send. You are responsible for ensuring your use of researched contact data complies with applicable law in your and your recipients' jurisdictions (e.g. UK GDPR / PECR, CAN-SPAM), including honouring opt-outs.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be announced to active key holders by email.
